Here's another question because you guys are being awesome right now :).. What's the deal with planets? I've been reading around on the forums and I've heard stuff like "careful around planets" and "try exloring planets" etc.
Also, can a person max every skill? Can you be a master miner, master pilot, master gunner, etc? Or are you limited to the race/options you chose when you created your pilot? I'd assume if you can max everything out, it would take months, if not years (or maybe not..?).
Empire is High sec ie anything rated 0.5 or higher on the F10 map (you can filter it to shoe sec status btw)
Planets are boring...theres occasionally something there - at least there was when i started. But one thing to note is that in low sec - 0.4 to 0.1 CONCORD dont come to help you like they do in High Sec. so if your in 0.4 and at a planet you are easy meat for a player pirate.
Moons can be more interesting - they could house a Player Owned Starbase (POS)...but those could vapourise you quicker than you can say "Oh.."*POP*...
Your not limited to race or weapon type or mining or fighting.
You can learn any skill in the game so long as:
1) you have the required skills to learn it
2) you have enough money to buy the skill book for it (Some are VERY expensive)
Once you have the 1st level of a skill you dont need to buy a skill book for it again.
To go see your friend. find out what system he is in press F10, enter the system name in the auto pilot tab, right click, choose set destination, launch (if docked) and hit the Auto pilot button. and off you go.....
I'd also reconmend doing the tutorial it will tell you many useful things...and saves us vets answering 100001 questions about the same things :P
also I'd reconmend the Q&A forum to look in for answers
